I'm fairly sure I received Wild About Beauty Creme Eyeshadow in the shade 'Edna' in a Birchbox some time last year, but I wouldn't like to put much money on that. Wild About Beauty is Louise Redknapp's beauty brand, with paraben-free formulas containing nutritional ingredients that claim to be good for your skin. I'm always dubious about these claims; it's eyeshadow, how good for me can it be?! But then I think, I'll be wearing eyeshadow anyway, it can't hurt to try a supposedly skin-friendly one!

Encased in a deep purple plastic compact featuring the brand's logo in black (if I could change one thing it would be this, as it's very difficult to see - a lighter coloured, or even gold or silver, font colour would be better!), complete with a handy mirror for on-the-go application, 'Edna' is a shimmery, coppery-gold shade in the pan.

The formula is smooth and creamy; applied with the fingertip (bottom swatch below), you get a light wash of colour, just enough to brighten up the eyes and add a hint of shimmer; I tend to apply using an eyeshadow brush (top swatch), which gives a deeper colour and a more dramatic look. It's a very buildable formula, making this a versatile product, ideal for both daytime and evening wear.

I have a real thing about cream eyeshadows as I often find they just don't wear well on my eyelids; I have oily skin, and cream formulas have a tendency to crease really quickly on me. I've been really impressed, therefore, to find that 'Edna' lasts beautifully without a primer, setting quickly on my lids and easily lasting an eleven-hour day looking as good as new - I can imagine this would last another eleven hours without a problem, if ever the need arose!

Wild About Beauty Creme Eyeshadows are available in four shades here, priced at £13 for 1.75g of product; not by any means the most affordable of cream shadows but for the quality of the product, I don't think it's an unreasonable price. It's a versatile formula, a wearable shade, and the shadow sets on the lids and doesn't budge! If you have Birchbox points to spend, it might be worth ordering from them here, although they only have two shades available at the time of writing.
