Introducing | Beauty Kitchen

Having reviewed Beauty Kitchen's Inspire Me Brightening & Toning Body Polish a few months ago, I'd been really missing have a good body scrub in my routine - so I decided to try another one from Beauty Kitchen. I ended up ordering a few bits and pieces from the brand to try, and thought I'd share them all together as a little bit of an introduction if you're not familiar with the Glasgow-based brand. Beauty Kitchen's goal is to offer affordable beauty products smell great, look great and are great for the environment; a winning combination, to be sure!
The packaging of the Body Polish and Body Soufflé is just gorgeous; these heavy glass jars make the products seem quite luxurious and, of course, the jars are perfect to re-use for storage once the products are finished. I can't help feeling that the Body Wash lets the side down a little in its rather ordinary blue plastic bottle, but there are more important things than the packaging!
The Inspire Me Brightening & Toning Body Wash (£7.99/300ml) is apparently, "Super soft and moisture-packed for dull and tired skin. Awaken your senses with this uplifting, rejuvenating, firming body wash, made with renewable, moisturising and skin-purifying algae oil. Antioxidant and Vitamin C-loaded Grapefruit blends with Lemongrass to help firm and brighten your skin." This has a beautiful herbal/citrus scent which I was familiar with from the Body Polish I'd used previously. It's perfect for waking me up in the shower in the morning! The Body Wash gives a gentle foam rather than lathering up like a traditional shower gel, which I quite like; it leaves my skin feeling clean and soft without being dry or tight. I'm still not sure about the firming and brightening claims, although I'm not sure my skin needs that just yet, but it certainly can't do any harm!
The Love Me Caring & Anti-Aging Body Polish (£14.99/200g) claims to be, "Bursting with minerals and oils full of antioxidants for a deep moisturisation. With natural smoothing oils, cranberry seeds and detoxing mineral-packed pink rock salt, this body polish is perfect for cellulite or stretch marks on arms, legs, bums and tums!" Now I didn't buy this for the anti-aging effects and that's not really something my skin needs just yet - I just wanted to try a range aside from the Inspire Me, and liked the sound of this one. The exfoliation comes from the salt and cranberry seeds (obviously!) which are in an oil base - I find that they tend to separate and the oils end up floating on the top, so I do have to give it a good stir with my fingers before scooping some out of the jar. I find this works best on slightly damp skin as the polish spreads more easily that way than on dry skin, meaning I need less product per use. A good scrub on my arms and legs and a rinse off leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, but not at all dry or irritated, thanks to the oils it contains. I find there's a slight residue left on my skin after rinsing, but it's not sticky or greasy so I don't mind. I really like this one!
The Inspire Me Brightening & Toning Body Soufflé (£14.99/200ml) is described as, "Luxurious skin-soothing moisture in a jar. Your skin will love this silky luxurious moisturising soufflé. It's packed with super effective shea butter, grapefruit, and lemongrass, leaving your skin brighter, firmer, and subtly scented." This has the same lovely scent as the body wash and a gorgeous silky texture; it spreads easily over the skin, absorbs quickly, and a little goes a long way. It leaves a beautiful lingering scent on the skin and I find it hydrates quite effectively too. I've been using this on my arms and legs after showering, as they're the areas I tend to suffer from dryness, and I've found my skin hasn't been getting itchy and tight as it can when I don't moisturiser.

I really like the Beauty Kitchen products I've tried so far; I think they're great quality and live up to their claims. They're effective without being overly fancy, smell lovely and leave my skin feeling happy which is always a bonus! I'll definitely be re-purchasing the Body Polish and Body Soufflé, though I may try these products from the other ranges to find my favourite scents... It's always nice to support British brands and Beauty Kitchen are a lovely alternative option; I think the posh packaging means they'd make great gifts, too!
