Now let's be honest; the packaging isn't amazing... but it is, after all, what's inside that counts, and I do think the white, clinical-looking bottle and tube are quite nice in their own way... Both products came in cardboard outer packaging which gave plenty of product detail including what the product is designed to do, usage suggestions, and key ingredients. I like to be well-informed about my skincare products so I do appreciate this.

First up, Salcura's Bioderm Dermaspray; "recommended as a liquid alternative to conventional emollient creams and should be used on a regular basis to maintain healthy skin. Ideal for use on limbs and torso, this practical and convenient spray nourishes skin prone to eczema and psoriasis and provides an alternative to thick and greasy creams. The liquid spray formula is light, non-greasy, and very easy to use - penetrating quickly and deeply to support healthy skin growth by nourishing new skin cells in their early development." 

I find that the spray format of this makes it really easy to use - you just spray on, rub in, and you're done - and the formula absorbs into my skin nice and quickly. In my opinion it's very light as emollient products go, and whilst it'll probably be okay for the summer, it just isn't enough for my skin through the cooler winter months, when I definitely need something a little more heavy-duty. I can imagine this being great for using on little ones as it's so quick and easy to use. I also really like the scent that this has, it reminds me of eucalyptus.

I also received a tube of Salcura's Bioskin Zeoderm; "recommended as a steroid-free alternative to conventional treatment creams. It should be used in conjunction with Bioskin DermaSpray or DermaSerum when skin is going through a particularly bad phase - providing extra intensive hydration and nourishment. Formulated for use on all areas of the body including the face, this light and easy to apply product works quickly with no limitations of how much you can use or how long you can use this product for."

I have been prescribed steroid creams and ointments for my eczema in the past and have always found that, whilst the clear it up in the short term, it tends to come back pretty quickly; steroids just aren't effective for me in the long-term. Add to that the implications of using steroids which include thinning of the skin, and I'm glad to have an alternative product to try! The Zeoderm cream is, again, light in texture and absorbs readily into the skin; I've used this mainly on my hands and in my elbows, and find that it doesn't leave any stickiness or greasy feeling behind, which is nice. I've also had a couple of patches of eczema on my face recently, for the first time ever, and have been fine using the Zeoderm cream there, too. It's not too heavy that it feels like it'll clog my pores, and it actually feels really soothing on the skin, as well as being pretty effective in treating itchiness and dryness.
