My Favourite Split-End-Preventer

Hair isn't something that gets a lot of mention here on The Indigo Hours; that's mostly because hair isn't my thing. Honestly, some days I'm doing well if I remember to brush it; I wash it and condition it and throw it into a ponytail for work, and that's about it as far as my haircare routine goes. However, my hair is long (almost to my waist) and thick (very thick) and prone to horrible dry ends which split really easily, leaving my 'do looking tatty and unattractive. So I picked up this little bottle of Tresemmé Expert Selection Botanique Nourish & Replenish Hydrating Mist in Asda to see if it could help with my hair woes...
It was the 'Silicone-Free' claim that initially drew me in, as I do prefer to avoid silicones in my haircare if I can help it - I find they make my hair oily faster, as well as causing me to break out on my shoulders and chest. So, we were off to a good start before I'd even bought it! Tresemmé claim, "The specially crafted Tresemmé Botanique Hydrating Mist formula is infused with our rich botanical blend of coconut milk and aloe vera. It gently detangles and conditions hair for a weightless, moisturised feel. Give your hair the extra nourishment it needs to stay soft, smooth and manageable."
My first thought upon trying this was that I'd really like a finer spray, as it was a lot like trying to attain an even misting through my hair using a water pistol. Honestly, I found the term "hydrating mist" so misleading as this is not a mist by any stretch of the imagination! The best way I've found of using it is to split my hair into two sections down my parting, hold each section away from my face, close my eyes and hope for the best... Not ideal. I only spray into the bottom four or five inches of my  towel-dried hair, as I do have very oily roots, and then brush through with my beloved Tangle Teezer.
All that faff aside, however, I do really like this - I had my hair cut around a month ago and I'd usually be noticing dozens of split ends by this stage, especially considering I'm swimming 2-3 times per week at the moment. I've actually barely noticed any, which is amazing for my hair, and I can't think what else could be responsible. Which makes me wish even more that it had a decent spray-nozzle-thing. I haven't noticed any unpleasant residue in my hair after using this - no crispiness or stickiness or anything like that.
So, apart from the dreadful delivery mechanism, I do really like this - I've been using it almost every time I wash my hair and have honestly noticed a difference in the quality of my ends, with far less splitting than I'm used to. I'll keep using this and I'll probably repurchase - maybe I just got a dodgy bottle? Tresemmé Expert Selection Botanique Hydrating Mist is priced at £5.50 for 125ml in Boots, although I think it was half-price in Asda when I bought it so it's worth keeping an eye out for a deal!
